GERA Business Services

Social Economy Services

GERA has been established since the April 1st 2007. This was brought about by the merger of East End Partnership Ltd and Greater Easterhouse Development
Company Ltd. Both companies have been active in the East of Glasgow for more than 10 years, successfully pursuing their vision of increasing the economic
opportunities for the area by delivering services to residents and organisations.

The map below illustrates the area covered by GERA in a Glasgow wide context.

The geographic area covered by this new company is large – stretching from Glasgow City Centre in the West to Baillieston in the East and from Carmyle
in the South to Garthamlock in the North of the city. GERA is committed to delivering regeneration, childcare and employability projects across the East
End of Glasgow.

The Social Economy is made up of organisations that do not form part of the public or private sector. Organisations within this sector have a ‘social mission’ in addition to their economic mission and are committed to supporting the development of their community.
